Audacity		Audacity Is a very useful piece of freeware software that is completely open source. It can be used to redord and edit audio. i recommend it to anyone who wants professional quality audio editing abilities without spending a lot of money.
Wavosaur		Wavosaur is a free sound editor. It has a small filesize and is easy to use. I have been playing with this and I think it is a useful app. Be sure to help these guys out by donating if you can.
KVR AUDIO		KVR is a huge Audio plug-in site that every sound artist and msuician working with recording gear shoudl be familiar with. There are tons of free downloads for things liek VST and AU plug-ins. I go here all the time.
Digital Recording		This is a site with some useful information to help introduce someone into digital recording. its a tutorial format website. Good information for beginner's and novices.
Stereo Mic'ing Techniques		Some basic information on the varios forms of stereo mic'ing techniques.
Final Cut Basic Audio Tutorial		This is a useful site with some basic onformation on how to edit video in Final Cut.
Garage Band Tutorial >		This is a tutorial on how to edit audio in Garage band. It is my recommendation that you "graduate" from this program as fast as possible. it won't take long before you start to run into limitations with its use. Audacity is a good next step.
Max/Msp Objects Database		this is a super useful site that archives every object used in Max/Msp. T pretty much go here all the time.
AV Drum		This is one of the coolest free programs out there. it is a complete Video step sequencer. Be sure to watch his demonstration video as well. DJ Fader is a kooky dude.
Create Digital Music		This is a useful website that has a lot of the lastes news in the digital music world. i go here all the time. This is where you learn about stuff liek wii remote hacking.
Seeing With Sound Applet		A clever internet applet that converst images to sound.
The Internet Archive		The go to place for stock footage and sounds. There is a lot of cool stuff here.
The Free Sound Project		This is somethign that shoudl be on every sound designer's bookmark list. Virtualyl any and every sound imagineable is available.
Fm Synthesis Demystified		Mommy? what's frequency modulation synthesis? Read this.
Complicated but Interesting FM Info		One of the most complete FM symthesis explanations i have encountered.
